As promised!

Wow...two posts in one day!!!    I was so excited about the sketch I turned right around and got busy.  So...as promised, here is the layout that I made from the sketch that I created earlier today.  The products I used were from the 35mm Studio Calico Monthly Kit.  I love the hexagon stamp.  I'd been looking for one for months so when I saw the one in their kit, I had to get the whole thing.  I hope you liked this sketch and layout....there will be more to come!  I'd love to see what you come up with from my sketch.  Add a comment to this post with a link to what you've created!

You Scream! I Scream! We ALL Scream for Ice Cream!

So....I think I went all out this year for my daughter's eighth birthday.  We wanted to have an ice cream social so why not do it right.  I made the invites, the dress to wear and all the decorations, even a little photo booth from her craft table.  I took Chinese lanterns and turned them into giant ice cream cones.  The kids had a blast making magnetic trays, pencil/note holders and eating all the ice cream they could stomach!  Here's a few of photo's from the event.
Page Maps Bella Blvd sketch contest So…I thought to myself…today (well actually yesterday since I’m posting this today) is National Scrapbook Day and I’m not going to scrap…WHAT????   Being that I am a die-hard scrapper, why not whip up a quick entry for the Bella Blvd sketch contest . This layout is of my FOUR children who without them I would not be the person I am today.   They have taught me more than any teacher could have done with a text book.   They have taught me how to love someone unconditionally, how to be patient without losing my mind in the process and they have taught me to take life as it comes.   I wish I could say that I had everything planned out in my life, but I’m much happier letting life take its course and I go along for the ride.   With Mother’s day just around the corner I hope that they realize what a joy it is to be their Mom. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s out there!   I couldn’t imagine my life without these four very different and very b
Page Maps "A Sweethaven Summer" Sketch Contest I can't believe it's be forever and a day since I put something on my blog.  Life has been coming at me at a mile a minute and now with the kids just about to finish the school year up, I'd better buckle up.  I found a couple extra hours of free time today and what a better way than to create a layout for the Page Maps contest. My digital camera has taken a turn for the worse, so I've had to go old school for my photos.  I pulled out my old SLR camera and a roll of 35mm film.  Most of you are probably thinking...do they even develop film any more?  Yep, they do...but you've got to wait a week for it and it cost a small fortune.  But, I always loved the results of the pictures I got from my oldie, but goodie Cannon.  It's so hard to take pictures and not know exactly what you're gonna get in a blink of an eye.  But...I'm holding out and savin' up for a DSLR I've had my eye on for quite

Here's my contest entry for the PageMaps ETM contest. Hope you like it!

PageMaps Contest

My Memory Suite sketch contest Can you believe it's been six months since I've posted anything....WOW!!!! Now that doesn't mean that I haven't been scrappin', it just means I haven't had the chance to put anything up online. Here's why. In April I was making meatloaf for dinner. I put all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and dove my hands into it to mix it all up....all of a sudden....WOOOOOOOOOWW!!!! I dislocated my thumb! Yep...popped it right out! Yes, it hurt! So...here I am several months later with my hand in brace, numbness and tingling starting from the tip of my fingers that radiates up my arm and finally fades away once it hits my clavicle. I had x-rays taken, a MRI and a nerve conduction test. And the diagnosis.... Severe nerve damage that will take up to a year to heal itself. A YEAR!!!! But, I avoided having surgery and it will, in time, heal itself. Ahhhh! So...my friends/followers...I'm back in action!

My 2010 Christmas Cards

Okay.....finally the card is finished. I started working on these cards back in October. I created little pieces of it at a time. Once I saw the car with the tree tied to the top I knew I have to make that. So....what to do about the rest of it. Well, I was surfing the net and found the pattern for the pop-up card on the LaLa -Land blog ( http://lalalandcrafts.blogspot.com/search/label/Tutorials ) I instantly fell in love with the design and had to create it for my Christmas card this year. I will admit, I only made EIGHT of these cards. I made a second card to send out to the masses. I hope you love it as much as I do! I had such a great time making this card, I think I will now commit to making birthday cards for my love ones with some sort of pop-up idea. Now that I've figured out how to make them...they were a huge hit with my family. Check out the LaLa -Land blog, they've got some great stamps if you're into Copic Markers. Happy Holidays!
