My 2010 Christmas Cards

Okay.....finally the card is finished. I started working on these cards back in October. I created little pieces of it at a time. Once I saw the car with the tree tied to the top I knew I have to make that. So....what to do about the rest of it. Well, I was surfing the net and found the pattern for the pop-up card on the LaLa -Land blog ( http://lalalandcrafts.blogspot.com/search/label/Tutorials ) I instantly fell in love with the design and had to create it for my Christmas card this year. I will admit, I only made EIGHT of these cards. I made a second card to send out to the masses. I hope you love it as much as I do! I had such a great time making this card, I think I will now commit to making birthday cards for my love ones with some sort of pop-up idea. Now that I've figured out how to make them...they were a huge hit with my family. Check out the LaLa -Land blog, they've got some great stamps if you're into Copic Markers. Happy Holidays!

Sweet Memories - Basic Grey "Curio" line

The new Basic Grey "Curio" line is sooooo me! I loved every sheet of it as well as all the embellishments. I created this particular layout for a store sample at work. Once I finish creating the sample I had to buy it all! (go figure) I left work that day looking forward to all the fun things I can create with my bag of goodies. Once I find some spare time to whip up some more pages....I'll post them here! (promise!) I might even use some of the BasicGrey PageMaps on pagemaps.com Okay I have to confess....I couldn't keep my hands of my bag of goodies and I just had to throw together a quick layout! (okay...it took me 1 hour just to get the words in the right place!) This picture was taken in Hawaii this past summer, it's my son Ben and I - love this picture of us. The layout was inspired by one of the PageMaps November online 12x12 sketches (Thanks Becky!) Here's a couple more layouts I created with the Basic Grey Curio line....if I don't slow down I won&

PageMaps - Dusty Attic Chipboard Contest

Anyone up for a game of "Angry-Mitt?" While in Hawaii my parents thought it would be great to put up a net where we could play volleyball & badminton. Once Grandpa showed Sabrina & the rest of the kids how to play....they fell in love with the game! The next morning Sabrina came to me at said...."Who wants to play Angry-Mitt?" I looked at her and said... "What...Angry mitt?" What is she talking about? I asked her a couple of times what she was talking about and when she finally told me...."you know the game where you hit the bird with the racket!" Finally the light bulb in my head went off.....it was BADMINTON! The game of badminton will never be called it's true name again in the Baldwin family! Who wants to play "Angry-Mitt?" I hope you enjoyed the story and the layout as well. I used BoBunny papers and made my own birdie with a piece of plastic canvas I had laying around for a hundred years. I love the new American Craft

Scrap Attack Sketch Contest - Page Maps

Here's my version of the latest challenge. While on vacation with my family in Hawaii my Mom and I would scrapbook every morning and almost every night. I carried along with me a print out of the pagemap challenge and was determined to capture some awesome pictures while on vacation and then post it to my blog. I used a solid white piece of paper and my distress inks to alter the color of the background paper so that it matched the "sea glass" tiles used in the layout. The title was created with Grunge Board letters and distress inks. The large fish was also colored with the distress inks and then sprayed with glimmer mist. I hope you enjoy the layout! Aloha! (Sorry, but the quality of the picture of my layout is not to my normal standards, but what the heck....I'm on vacation! :-) a girls got to do what a girl's got to do. hehehehe! Here's a second version of the layout....just for fun!

PageMaps RW Laser Cuts Chipboard Contest

Ahhhh.....another PageMap challenge. I am so addicted to these challenges now. But, this time no running out and spending a million dollars to complete the challenge. This time I added a little bit to the challenge for myself....NO SHOPPING! Oh no...what did I commit myself to? With the added stress of not being able to buy new stuff for this one.....off to my mini scrapbook store also know as "my closet" to round up some supplies to get this done, all the while remembering there was a color challenge too! YIKES! I once had a vision to complete a mini album that doubled as a cookbook for my 21 year old. Of course when I had the vision (I don't want to say how long ago it was...) I bought all the essentials, but never completed the project (go figure?). What a better time than the present to use those supplies. So, with this layout I used the Nana's Kitchen w/ Glitter stack by DCWV to get me started. I also wanted to use these pictures of my little one holding a slice

Coffee Creations! (aka...my work!)

Here are a few things I've created on Canvas. This first "HOME" canvas was created for the Project of the Month at work. It is inspired by several different Tim Holtz techniques. The entire design was created and sewn onto a 10x10 piece of cardstock and then adhered to the 10x10 canvas. The class was a huge success. My canvas was also used as advertising for Archiver's in June 2010. I was having such a great time creating canvases, I created this next canvas as a gift for my daughter's Kindergarten teacher. She absolutely loved it. I hated to part with it....but she was an Awesome teacher. Thanks Mrs. Cummings! My "Family Time" canvas is a 12x12 canvas where I printed a picture of me and three of the four kids onto an iron-on paper. I ironed the image onto the canvas and then used Tim Holtz distress inks to add color to the canvas. At work we recently were given a task by the home office to come up with a Printer's Tray idea. Our store put our brains

Page Maps Contest

I love Page Maps and I can't wait for Becky's email every month letting me know that the new maps are READY!!!! When I saw the challenge for this month I was so excited. First...a new MAP! and second...the PRIZE! Webster's Pages! I LOVE WP's ! Here's is my version of Becky's sketch ....hope you all enjoy it! Life can't get any easier when you've got such great subjects to photograph and Becky coming up with the maps each month! (thanks Beck!) On this layout I used October Afternoon papers and note cards. And, who doesn't love a Prima Flower or two...or three ...or four....! I use a lot of Tim Holtz products (including Grunge Board - this stuff is awesome!) in my work and love using the Distress Inks everywhere! I used the blending tool to add color to the pedals of the flower and a slightly wet paint brush and more distress ink to add color to the center of the Prima flower. I plan to put this layout in a shadow box and hang it on the wall. When
