PageMaps Contest

My Memory Suite sketch contest
Can you believe it's been six months since I've posted anything....WOW!!!! Now that doesn't mean that I haven't been scrappin', it just means I haven't had the chance to put anything up online. Here's why. In April I was making meatloaf for dinner. I put all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and dove my hands into it to mix it all up....all of a sudden....WOOOOOOOOOWW!!!! I dislocated my thumb! Yep...popped it right out! Yes, it hurt! So...here I am several months later with my hand in brace, numbness and tingling starting from the tip of my fingers that radiates up my arm and finally fades away once it hits my clavicle. I had x-rays taken, a MRI and a nerve conduction test. And the diagnosis.... Severe nerve damage that will take up to a year to heal itself. A YEAR!!!! But, I avoided having surgery and it will, in time, heal itself. Ahhhh! So...my friends/followers...I'm back in action!
Oh, did I mention that my husband told me I needed to quit all this crafting....he is now my x-husband (just kidding!). I'll keep him a little longer LOL!
Now, lets get down to business. Here's my entry for the PageMaps contest. This is one of my favorite Halloween pictures of one of my four children. This is Casey in 1998. He was the Scarecrow while his older sister Heidi was Dorothy. I loved to dress them as a matching set. They didn't like it, but since I was sewing the costumes they didn't have much to say about it. Casey is now 21 years old and is living in NY where he is in Prototype School for the US Navy. Here's my handsome son in January 2011. Where does then time go?

  1. Good on you for not choosing surgery. I hope you heal fast, well and in all the right places. :)
    Cheering you on!

PageMaps RW Laser Cuts Chipboard Contest

Ahhhh.....another PageMap challenge. I am so addicted to these challenges now. But, this time no running out and spending a million dollars to complete the challenge. This time I added a little bit to the challenge for myself....NO SHOPPING! Oh no...what did I commit myself to? With the added stress of not being able to buy new stuff for this one.....off to my mini scrapbook store also know as "my closet" to round up some supplies to get this done, all the while remembering there was a color challenge too! YIKES! I once had a vision to complete a mini album that doubled as a cookbook for my 21 year old. Of course when I had the vision (I don't want to say how long ago it was...) I bought all the essentials, but never completed the project (go figure?). What a better time than the present to use those supplies. So, with this layout I used the Nana's Kitchen w/ Glitter stack by DCWV to get me started. I also wanted to use these pictures of my little one holding a slice...

As promised!

Wow...two posts in one day!!!    I was so excited about the sketch I turned right around and got busy.  So...as promised, here is the layout that I made from the sketch that I created earlier today.  The products I used were from the 35mm Studio Calico Monthly Kit.  I love the hexagon stamp.  I'd been looking for one for months so when I saw the one in their kit, I had to get the whole thing.  I hope you liked this sketch and layout....there will be more to come!  I'd love to see what you come up with from my sketch.  Add a comment to this post with a link to what you've created!
